Stefan Frei

Stefan Frei (born April 20, 1986) is a Swiss professional soccer goalkeeper and the captain of Major League Soccer club Seattle Sounders FC. He began his MLS career with Toronto FC in 2009 and was traded to Seattle before the 2014 season. Frei was named MVP of the 2016 MLS Cup final after a decisive extra-time save against Toronto, and he has won two MLS Cups (2016, 2019), the 2014 Supporters’ Shield and the 2022 Concacaf Champions League with the Sounders.
